What MatterProof does, and what it does not take on.
What the service is
MatterProof is software supplied by Falcon Creative Ltd that a law firm uses to request, record and evidence customer due diligence on its clients.
What it is not
MatterProof supports a firm's customer due diligence. It does not perform the firm's risk assessment and it does not assume the firm's obligations under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. Whether to act for a client, what level of due diligence is appropriate, and what to do about a screening match are decisions for the firm and its MLRO. The software records those decisions; it does not make them, and using it is not a defence to a regulatory failing.

Access
Accounts are issued to SRA-regulated firms by invitation during the closed beta. There is no public self-registration. If you would like access, use the contact page.
Full contractual terms, including the service level, liability position and the Article 28 data processing agreement, are drafted and awaiting legal review. They will be provided to each firm before any account is opened.
